PNP reports nine new COVID-19 cases, total reaches 42,047

On Wednesday, the Philippine National Police (PNP) reported nine new COVID-19 cases among its personnel, bringing the total number of cases to 42,047.

The PNP also noted that 41,661 have recovered from the disease and 261 are active cases; no additional deaths were reported since Monday's update.

A senior police officer in Bicol died on November 8 due to complications from COVID-19 and hypertension, marking the 125th PNP fatality related to the virus.

Since September 28, daily new cases within the PNP have been steadily declining, with single-digit figures reported recently compared to a peak of 143 cases on that date last month.

As of Monday, about 90.76% or 203,588 of PNP personnel are fully vaccinated while 7.89% or 17,692 have received their first dose; around 3,032 police members remain unvaccinated.
