PNP: Granular lockdown areas rise to 29 nationwide

The number of areas under granular lockdown nationwide increased from 27 to 29 on Wednesday as a result of rising COVID-19 infections.

Of these, 22 are located in Metro Manila and six in Mimaropa, with one area reported in the Cordillera region.

In Metro Manila alone, at least 70 individuals were affected by granular lockdowns, up from 57 people on Tuesday.

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases raised Alert Level 3 for NCR from January 3 to 15 due to a sharp increase in new COVID-19 cases.
