Philippines posts record-high 33K new COVID-19 cases

The Philippines reported a record-high 33,169 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, January 10.

This is the highest daily case count since the start of the pandemic and marks three consecutive days of record-breaking infections.

As of Sunday, January 9, active cases surpassed 128K with a positivity rate of 44% out of 77,479 tests on Friday, January 7.

The previous highest daily case count was 26,458 reported on Saturday, January 8.

Metro Manila had the highest number of new cases in recent weeks, followed by Calabarzon and Central Luzon.
