PNP donates over P220M to aid poor during quarantine

The Philippine National Police (PNP) in Region 1 has raised PHP8.5 million from voluntary contributions to support the government's effort against the coronavirus pandemic.

Nationwide, the PNP has collected over PHP220 million and is set to turn it over to the National Treasury to help the poorest families affected by the enhanced community quarantine.

PNP chief Gen. Archie Gamboa thanked all personnel for their voluntary contributions and emphasized transparency in accounting procedures.

The funds will be used to augment government social amelioration programs, providing food assistance to the neediest citizens.
