PNP raises PHP208M through Bayanihan Fund Challenge

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has raised PHP208.1 million through voluntary contributions from its personnel to help those affected by the enhanced community quarantine due to COVID-19.

Police Regional Office-9 contributed over PHP7.8 million, with individual police offices and units contributing various amounts.

Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac, PNP spokesperson, stated that this initiative exceeds their target of PHP200 million and aims to support poor families enduring the lockdown measures.

The funds will be remitted to the PNP Director for Comptrollership and eventually turned over to the national government.

Additionally, the PNP launched an 'adopt-a-family' program called 'Kapwa Ko, Sagot Ko!', benefiting nearly 300 families in Region IX.
