Sinas stays as NCRPO chief pending probe on alleged birthday party

Metro Manila police chief Maj Gen Debold Sinas remains in his post pending probe results on his alleged birthday party during the enhanced community quarantine.

PNP spokesperson Brig Gen Bernard Banac denied reports of a new NCRPO chief appointment, stating that Sinas will stay until further notice.

Authorities plan to file criminal charges against Sinas and other senior police officials involved in the gathering on Friday.

Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea has ordered PNP-Internal Affairs Service to investigate and forward results directly to his office.

PNP chief Archie Gamboa is also looking into possible violations of quarantine protocols but does not see any at present.
