PNP Calabarzon seizes P32M shabu, arrests 961 drug traffickers in May

On Wednesday, May 29, police anti-narcotic operatives in Dasmariñas City, Cavite seized P170,000 worth of shabu from two high-value drug traffickers.

Over the weekend (May 31 and June 1), police conducted buy-bust operations across Rizal, Cavite, Batangas, and Laguna provinces, arresting seven suspected drug traffickers and seizing more than P3.5 million worth of shabu along with a hand grenade and a handgun.

In May, the Philippine National Police in Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) region arrested 961 suspected drug traffickers and seized over P28.4 million worth of crystal meth or shabu, conducting 749 operations and confiscating a total of 4,054 grams of shabu.

Among those arrested were 'Abul', 'Norodin', and 'Noraidah' in Rizal, who sold shabu to an undercover officer and had 502.3 grams seized from them, while 'Nikki' in Dasmariñas City was detained with three sachets of shabu worth P69,972 and a hand grenade.

Police also arrested two alleged big-time traffickers on May 16 in separate drug busts in Dasmariñas City, seizing more than P12.9 million worth of shabu during the operations.

All suspects are under police custody facing charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, with additional cases for illegal possession of firearms and explosives.
