PNP-PDEG seizes PHP795M worth of drugs in May

Operatives of the Philippine National Police (PNP) - Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) confiscated illegal drugs valued at more than PHP795 million in May.

The PDEG conducted 81 intelligence-driven operations, including three search warrant operations, 31 buy-bust operations, and 24 manhunt operations, as well as 23 marijuana eradication efforts.

A total of 74 drug personalities were arrested during these operations, resulting in the seizure of 5.64 kg of suspected shabu and over 3 million pieces of marijuana plants, leaves, and seeds.

Brig. Gen. Eleazar Matta, PDEG chief, highlighted that the seizures included 1,090,000 grams of dried marijuana leaves and 3,000 grams of marijuana seeds.

The operations have significantly contributed to impeding the proliferation of illegal drugs and ensuring public safety.
