Sabete's 16-point effort leads Petro Gazz past Cignal

Jonah Sabete's 16-point performance helped Petro Gazz secure a 25-13, 25-18, 25-17 victory over Cignal in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference on Tuesday.

Sabete contributed 13 attacks, two blocks, and an ace, boosting Petro Gazz's winning streak to three games with a 7-2 win-loss record, tying them with defending champion Creamline.

Brooke van Sickle added 13 points for Petro Gazz, while Cignal remains on the brink of elimination with a 5-4 standing after their second consecutive loss.

Petro Gazz's victory marked a significant milestone in their pursuit of the semifinals, as they now face fewer challenges from eliminated teams Galeries Tower and Nxled.

Captain Remy Palma emphasized that despite the strong performance against Cignal, Petro Gazz cannot afford to relax given the tight race for Final Four slots with Creamline and Chery Tiggo also at 7-2.
