PITX expects over 2.5M passengers during Holy Week

More than 2.5 million people are expected to visit the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) during Holy Week and Easter holiday, with peak travel days anticipated on April 9, Maundy Thursday, and Good Friday.

Jason Salvador, PITX spokesperson, predicts an additional surge in passenger numbers from April 21 to April 23 as people return to work and school; however, some trips are already fully booked due to early travelers.

The PITX reported a higher number of passengers this year compared to last year, with around 2.3 million expected during the Holy Week period.

To prepare for the influx of passengers, additional waiting areas have been set up at the second floor and measures have been taken to ensure roadworthiness of buses through special inspections by LTO and DOTr.

Malacañang declared April 9 (Araw ng Kagitingan), April 17 (Maundy Thursday) and April 18 (Good Friday) as regular holidays while April 19 is a non-working day under Proclamation No. 727.
