Philippines to stay under Alert Level 2 until Jan. 15

The Philippines will remain under Alert Level 2 until January 15, 2022 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the threat of the Omicron variant.

Under Alert Level 2, establishments and activities are allowed at 50% capacity indoors for fully vaccinated adults (and minors) and 70% capacity outdoors.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III expressed his preference for maintaining Alert Level 2, citing an increase in daily positivity rate in the National Capital Region but noting that NCR remains at minimal risk.

The Department of Health will continue to monitor if the uptick in cases continues.
