LGUs urged to impose granular lockdowns amid rising cases

Local government units are prepared to implement granular or localized lockdowns in areas with rising COVID-19 cases, according to ULAP executive Dakila Cua.

Acting Presidential Spokesperson Karlo Alexei Nograles urged LGUs to enforce granular lockdowns if there is a surge in cases, citing the OCTA Research Group's report of a 5% positivity rate in Metro Manila.

Nograles emphasized that granular lockdowns should not be disregarded as an option and can be imposed by LGUs when they observe clustering of COVID-19 cases.
