Philippines Reports Lowest Daily COVID-19 Cases Since December

The Department of Health (DOH) reported 2,730 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, the lowest daily case count since December 31.

This marks a week straight where daily cases have been below 5,000, with total active cases dropping to 76,609, the lowest since January 6.

The DOH projects that if public health standards are maintained, daily cases could drop to around 2,100 by mid-March.

Recoveries increased by 7,456 on Monday, bringing the total number of recoveries to 3,484,636 out of 3,630,637 confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic.

The positivity rate is at 14.7%, and all regions except Soccsksargen are in a low to moderate risk category.
