NCR, Calabarzon remain low risk for COVID-19

The National Capital Region (NCR) and the provinces in Calabarzon -- Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon -- remain at low risk for COVID-19 transmission as of February 18.

OCTA Research fellow Dr. Guido David noted that NCR's positivity rate is currently at 6%, healthcare utilization stands at 26%, the reproduction number is at 0.20, and the average daily attack rate (ADAR) is at 3.45.

On February 16, OCTA reported that Cavite, Laguna, Quezon, and Rizal had transitioned to low-risk status with Batangas expected to follow soon.

David highlighted that all provinces in Calabarzon and NCR have positivity rates below 10%, indicating a decline in transmission.

Quezon province is close to achieving very low risk classification.
