Philippines Reports 433 New COVID-19 Cases on December 25

On Saturday, December 25, the Philippines recorded 433 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total to 2,838,381.

Active infections stood at 9,376 with recoveries increasing by 369 to a total of 2,777,818 and fatalities rising by 137 to 51,187.

The positivity rate was 1.6%, below the WHO guideline of less than 5%. ICU bed usage nationwide was at 18% with ward beds in use at 11% nationally and 14% in Metro Manila.

On Christmas Eve, December 24, 310 new cases were recorded, increasing active infections to 9,321 and recoveries by 227 to a total of 2,777,661.

The DOH reported that the majority of recent cases occurred in Metro Manila (39%), Calabarzon (12%), and Central Luzon (8%).
