DOH: 2021 year of pandemic recovery

The Department of Health (DOH) described 2021 as a year of recovery from the pandemic.

Filipinos saw hope with the arrival of vaccines starting in February, initially administered to medical front-liners and vulnerable populations.

By March, more Filipinos became eligible for vaccination, and booster shots were available by November.

The first quarter of 2021 was less affected by holiday festivities compared to December 2020, with daily cases averaging around 1,700.
