Philippines records 2500 new COVID-19 cases from March 24-30

The Philippines recorded 2,500 new COVID-19 cases from March 24 to March 30, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 3,677,924.

As of Friday, there were 40,412 active cases, with 38,989 being asymptomatic or mild and 1,423 in severe or critical condition.

Recoveries increased to 3,578,387 while the death toll rose to 59,125.

The DOH noted a slow decline in cases, with an estimated 364 new cases per day for that week compared to 24% of cases the previous week.

On Thursday, the country reported 327 new cases and active infections dropped to 39,315.

From March 24-30, the National Capital Region had the highest number of cases with 1,694 followed by Regions 4-A and 6.

Tuesday saw the lowest daily case tally this year at 246 new infections.
