Philippines receives additional Pfizer vaccines, surpasses 200M total deliveries

The Philippines received an additional 367,380 Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine doses on Tuesday, bringing the total number of vaccine doses delivered to over 205 million.

Dr. Ted Herbosa disclosed that the government procured 39 million Pfizer doses and received 20 million donated doses.

To prepare for a possible Omicron surge, the national government is fast-tracking booster and second doses for eligible individuals.

On Monday, an additional 1,187,550 doses of government-procured Pfizer vaccines arrived, surpassing the 200 million mark in total vaccine deliveries.

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. confirmed that as of December 27, over 202 million doses have been delivered to the Philippines and more than 105 million doses have been administered nationwide.
