Philippines logs lowest weekly COVID cases since June

The Philippines reported its lowest weekly number of new COVID-19 cases since June 2022, with 832 cases from February 20 to 26.

This is a significant decrease from the previous week's average of 128 daily infections and marks the second week with fewer than 1,000 weekly cases since March 2020.

The latest data also shows 78 new deaths verified by the DOH, an increase of 5% from the prior week’s total.

Active severe or critical COVID-19 admissions decreased to 370 from the previous week's 406.

ICU bed utilization dropped to 13.5%, and non-ICU beds were at 17.8%. Over 94% of the target population is vaccinated.
