DOH reports 143 new COVID-19 cases, active tally at 9,337

The Department of Health (DOH) reported 143 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, bringing the active tally to 9,337.

This marks an increase from Thursday's count of 9,269 and follows a trend of rising daily case numbers after several days below 100.

The nationwide tally now stands at 4,076,014 with recoveries reaching 4,000,601 and deaths increasing to 66,076.

In the past two weeks, Metro Manila reported the highest number of infections (421), followed by Davao Region (218), Calabarzon (171), Western Visayas (92), and SOCCSKARGEN (70).

The national bed occupancy rate remained steady at 17.2%, with 4,340 beds occupied out of a total of 25,299.

A total of 8,598 individuals were tested on Wednesday, with data from 327 testing laboratories submitted as of Thursday.
