Philippines logs 2,578 new COVID-19 cases; active tally climbs

The Philippines recorded 2,578 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, the highest daily tally since February.

Active infections rose to 18,990 from 18,090 on Friday.

NCR had the most cases in the past two weeks with 9,294, followed by Calabarzon with 5,057 and Central Luzon with 2,092.

Recovery tally increased to 3,650,914 while deaths remained at 60,461.

Nationwide bed occupancy rate is currently at 22.8% with 6,642 beds occupied out of 22,530 available.
