Philippines Logs 22% Drop in Daily Average of New COVID-19 Cases

The Philippines recorded 9,107 new coronavirus cases from May 29 to June 4, marking a 22% decrease in daily average cases compared to the previous week.

Ten deaths were reported during this period, with eight occurring in May and two in April.

As of June 4, there were 559 severe and critical cases, accounting for 10.6% of total admissions, which is the highest rate in 20 weeks.

ICU bed utilization was at 18.9%, while non-ICU beds had a 23% occupancy rate.

As of March 19, about 78.4 million Filipinos were fully vaccinated against COVID-19, covering 100.4% of the government's target population.
