FDA grants EUA for donated Sinopharm vaccines

The Philippine Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted an emergency use authorization for donated Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccines on Monday, June 7.

President Rodrigo Duterte was informed of this decision during a meeting with FDA Director-General Eric Domingo in Davao City.

Sinopharm's vaccine received WHO approval for emergency use in early May and is already being used in many countries worldwide.

Despite the WHO’s green light, the DOH required Sinopharm to undergo the usual regulatory process before granting EUA in the Philippines.
