WHO validates Sinovac vaccine for emergency use

The World Health Organization (WHO) has validated Sinovac's CoronaVac COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use, a move seen as positive by the National Task Force Against COVID-19.

NTF chief Carlito Galvez Jr. said this approval is a major boost to the country's vaccination program and helps address vaccine hesitancy.

Dr. Anna Ong-Lim of the DOH stated that WHO’s EUL serves as a quality seal, ensuring Sinovac meets international safety and efficacy standards.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire added that this approval may lead to wider recognition by other regulatory agencies globally.
