Philippines eyes vaccine plant, excess doses from Canada

Philippine Ambassador to Canada Rodolfo Robles disclosed that negotiations are underway between the Philippine government and Canadian biopharmaceutical company Medicago to establish a vaccine manufacturing plant in the country.

Robles offered the pharmaceutical ecozone in Bulacan, highlighting various perks such as tax-free trade and free capital importations.

The Philippines has also expressed interest in acquiring some of Canada's excess 100 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines, with Canada expected to have its population fully vaccinated by mid-fourth quarter this year.
