Iloilo City prioritized for vaccine distribution

Iloilo City is being prioritized for the distribution of coronavirus vaccines due to its recent surge in infections.

The national government relies on health experts' findings to select priority areas for vaccine distribution, with Iloilo City included in the NCR Plus 10 list along with other cities experiencing a surge in cases.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said that the allocation of vaccines is dependent on the incidence of Covid-19 in an area and that 50,000 Sinovac doses have been delivered to Iloilo City.

The NCR Plus 8 includes Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Pampanga, Batangas, Rizal, Bulacan, Metro Davao, and Metro Cebu, while the NCR Plus 10 adds Bacolod, Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro, Baguio, Zamboanga, Dumaguete, Tuguegarao, General Santos, Naga, and Legazpi.
