Philippines' COVID-19 positivity rate drops to 10.3%

The Philippines' COVID-19 positivity rate decreased to 10.3% on June 17 from 11.1% earlier in the week.

OCTA Research fellow Guido David reported that Metro Manila's positivity rate dropped below 10%, down to 9.4% as of June 13, a significant decrease from 14.6% on June 6.

The DOH recorded 693 new cases and one death on June 17, with recoveries at 1025 and active cases at 9005.

David noted that other regions like Iloilo, Misamis Oriental, Pampanga, Cavite, Nueva Ecija, Rizal, Pangasinan, Bulacan, Laguna, Negros Occidental, and Batangas also saw high case numbers.
