Philippines competes in two events before World Games closing

The Philippines will compete in two more events before the World Games closing ceremony on Sunday in Chengdu, China.

As of now, the country has won two silver and two bronze medals at the event.

Kaila Napolis and Chezka Centeno secured the silver medals in ju-jitsu and billiards respectively, while Carlos Baylon Jr. and Aislinn Yap earned bronzes in wushu and sambo.

On Sunday, Kim Mangrobang and others will participate in the duathlon mixed relay event, and Joyce Reboton will compete in powerlifting's women's super heavyweight division.

China leads the medal count with 27 golds, followed by Germany (15), Ukraine (15), and Italy (12).

The closing ceremony will feature the World Games flag being handed over to Karlsruhe, Germany, which will host the event in 2029.

Stephen Arapoc served as chef de mission for Team Philippines, comprising 47 members supported by the Philippine Olympic Committee and the Philippine Sports Commission.
