Philippine athletes advance in World Games: Centeno silver, Baylon bronze

Team Philippines made significant progress at the 2025 World Games, with Chezka Centeno advancing to both semifinals in women's 9-ball and 10-ball cue sports.

Carlos Baylon Jr., competing in wushu, won a bronze medal after defeating Kazakhstan's Islam Karimov with a score of 2-0.

Centeno secured her place in the women's 9-ball final by defeating China's Shasha Liu, 7-4, but lost to Chinese player Yu Han in the women's 10-ball final on Wednesday with a score of 6-7, settling for silver.

Kickboxing athlete Hergie Bacyadan advanced to the quarterfinals of kickboxing after defeating Hungary's Valentina Keri and will face Portugal’s Catarina Dias in the semis on Wednesday.

The Philippine Olympic Committee, led by President Abraham 'Bambol' Tolentino, continues to support Filipino athletes at the World Games.
