Three Filipino athletes advance in World Games events

Three Filipino athletes have advanced to their respective events at the 2025 World Games in Chengdu, China.

Wakeboarder Raph Trinidad secured third place overall and qualified for the finals of the men's cable wakeboard event with a score of 70.80 points on Saturday.

Muay Thai fighter Rudzma Abubakar advanced to the bronze medal round after losing her semifinal match against China's Xiaohui Liu due to a barrage of elbows from her opponent in the women's -48kg competition.

Eric Ordoñez placed fifth in his semifinal heat with 40.00 points but did not advance to the medal round in the men's wake surfing event.

Wushu athlete Agatha Wong ranked eighth out of nine competitors in the taolu taijiquan event and still has an opportunity to improve her standing in the taijijian competition on Friday night.
