Philippines ranks 79th in Lowy Institute's pandemic response index

The Philippines ranked 79th out of 98 countries in a study by the Lowy Institute, scoring 30.6 on its COVID Performance Index.

New Zealand topped the list with a score of 94.4, followed by Vietnam (90.8), Taiwan (86.4), and Thailand (84.2).

The Philippines scored lower than most Southeast Asian countries, only surpassing Indonesia in performance.

Lowy Institute measured six indicators including cases, deaths, tests per thousand people, confirmed infections and deaths per million people, and cases as a proportion of tests.
