PH reports 60 more recoveries, 1,169 new cases

The Philippines reported 60 more recoveries from COVID-19 on Thursday, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 475,596.

New confirmed cases increased by 1,169, with deaths rising by 71, pushing the active case count to 33,427 and the death toll to 10,552.

Quezon City saw the highest daily increase in new cases with 57, followed by Isabela with 54 and Manila, Davao City, and Rizal each reporting 42 new infections.

The Food and Drug Administration approved AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use, making it the second to receive authorization after Pfizer-BioNTech.
