PRO6, PNP seize PHP14.5M worth of shabu, marijuana in Western Visayas, Metro Manila

A week-long anti-drug operation in Western Visayas led by Police Regional Office 6 (PRO6) and separate operations in Metro Manila resulted in the seizure of over 1,789 grams of shabu and two grams of marijuana with a total value of more than PHP14.5 million.

From September 9 to 15, 2024, PRO6 conducted 84 operations across Western Visayas, arresting 114 suspects; on Thursday, three individuals including high-value individual (HVI) Roger Sabolo were arrested in Metro Manila with around PHP2.58 million worth of shabu.

The largest seizures occurred in Barangay San Pedro, Molo, Iloilo City on September 10, where PHP1.02 million worth of shabu was confiscated and another significant haul was made by the Bacolod City Police Office on September 12 with drugs valued at around PHP918,000.

The HVI arrested in Metro Manila is alias Greg, a resident of Barangay Rizal Pala-pala in Iloilo City; two other suspects were also apprehended during operations in Taguig and Parañaque cities.

The total value of illegal drugs seized in the first two weeks of September reached approximately PHP25 million, with 62 suspects arrested earlier in the month.

PRO6 regional director Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky commended law enforcement efforts and encouraged continued collaboration between police and communities to combat drug proliferation.
