Police seize P13.3B meth, biggest drug haul in PH

Eight suspected drug traffickers were taken into custody in separate operations across Rizal, Laguna, and Quezon provinces over the weekend (April 12 to April 14), yielding more than P3 million worth of shabu.

In a separate operation early Monday, April 15, police intercepted two tons of methamphetamine worth an estimated P13.3 billion in Alitagtag town, Batangas province, marking the largest drug seizure in Philippine history.

On the same day, authorities seized more than P500,000 worth of suspected shabu from a high-value target in Mobo town, Masbate province during a buy-bust operation.

Earlier in Barangay Malanday on Friday evening and Sunday morning in Quezon province, police operations netted two suspects with 12 sachets of shabu worth P341,260, a digital weighing scale, six alleged drug traffickers who surrendered more than P2 million worth of methamphetamine, and two illegal firearms.

All suspects from the weekend operations were placed under arrest and face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, with some also facing additional firearm possession charges.
