PH vaccinates 9.9M in extended nat'l vax drive

The Philippines vaccinated a total of 9,937,827 individuals during its extended national vaccination drive from November 29 to December 3.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire announced that the campaign was a 'huge success' as it surpassed the target of nine million vaccinations.

The first three days saw 8.01 million people vaccinated, with an additional 1.9 million during the two-day extension.

On November 29, the country administered around 2.7 million doses, ranking fourth globally for single-day vaccinations.

Region IV-A, Region III, and Region VII were top-performing regions, contributing a third of the total vaccinations.

The NVOC chairperson noted that almost 90% of the target was met during the initial three days, with connectivity issues delaying some reports.
