PH Covid-19 recoveries hit 1.17M, new cases at 5K

The Philippines reported a total of 1,167,426 recoveries from COVID-19 on Wednesday, with a recovery rate of 94.1 percent.

On the same day, there were 5,257 new confirmed cases and 146 new deaths, bringing the active case count to 52,132 and the death toll to 21,158.

The previous days saw similar trends with recoveries climbing by over 6,000 each day while new infections ranged between 5,177 and 7,058.

Active cases are predominantly mild (93.3 percent), with smaller percentages being asymptomatic or in critical condition.

Health authorities also noted some adjustments to case counts due to reclassification of deaths and recoveries.
