PH Reports Decrease in Active COVID-19 Cases, Increase in Deaths

The Department of Health (DOH) reported 1,474 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, bringing the total case count to 2.82 million.

Active cases decreased to 23,158 from 23,846 last Wednesday, with recoveries now at 97.5% of all recorded cases.

The death toll increased by 305 to a total of 46,422, though many deaths were logged late due to encoding issues and reclassification of recoveries as deaths.

Positive case rates dropped slightly to about 3.5%, with ICU occupancy at 34% nationwide and 32% in Metro Manila.
