PH logs 359 new COVID-19 cases, slight increase from recent low

The Philippines recorded 359 new COVID-19 infections on Wednesday, a slight increase from Tuesday's 220 cases which was the lowest in three months.

Active cases slightly decreased to 6,631 while recoveries and total caseload stood at 4,093,333 and 4,166,448 respectively.

Metro Manila had the highest number of new cases over the past two weeks, followed by Central Luzon, CALABARZON, Western Visayas, and Cagayan Valley.

From June 26 to July 2, a total of 2,747 infections were recorded with an average daily count of 392, marking a 20% decrease from the previous week.

The DOH reported two new deaths but noted these did not occur during the reporting period; ICU bed utilization slightly increased while non-ICU bed occupancy remained steady.
