PH daily average of new Covid-19 cases drops by 23%

The Philippines' daily average of new Covid-19 cases declined by 23% from July 10 to 16, with the DOH recording 277 daily infections and a positivity rate of 5.6%, down from 6.4% in the previous week.

No deaths were reported during the past week, while ICU bed usage is at 10.4% and non-ICU beds are utilized at 16%.

The country's overall vaccination coverage stands at 100.4% of its target population, with 82.16% of senior citizens vaccinated.

OCTA Research fellow Dr. Guido David noted that the positivity rate has been decreasing for three consecutive days and projected around 200 to 300 new cases on July 16.
