DOH: 3K recoveries, 10K new cases

The Department of Health (DOH) reported 3,127 new recoveries on Friday, bringing the country’s total to 1,535,375.

This accounts for 93.7 percent of the total infections since the start of the pandemic last year.

Another 10,623 new cases were reported, increasing active cases to 74,297 or 4.5 percent of all cases in the country.

Of these active cases, 94.8 percent have mild symptoms, followed by severe (1.8%), asymptomatic (1.2%), moderate (1.18%), and critical (1%) conditions.

The DOH attributed the rise in cases to a failure to observe public health standards, enforce prevention strategies, continued movement of the public, and presence of variants like Delta.
