PH logs 6,771 new recoveries, daily tests reach 70K

As of Friday, August 27, the Philippines recorded 6,771 new recoveries from COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,741,089.

The recovery rate is now at 90.8 percent out of a total of 1,916,461 infections since the start of the pandemic.

On Wednesday, the DOH conducted 70,396 tests with 26.1 percent returning positive for COVID-19.

The country also reported 17,447 new cases and a total of 142,531 active cases, representing 7.4 percent of all known infections.

Of the active cases, 96.2 percent have mild symptoms, followed by asymptomatic (1.1%), severe (1.1%), moderate (0.96%), and critical condition (0.6%) patients.
