PCG rescues over 186K, deploys aid in STS Kristine-hit regions

The Philippine Coast Guard has rescued over 186,000 individuals from nine regions impacted by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.

Regions affected include Southern Tagalog, Northeastern Luzon, the National Capital Region, Eastern Visayas, and others.

Approximately 3,115 Coast Guard responders have evacuated people from flooded areas across various residential zones.

The PCG deployed seven vessels and 171 vehicles to aid in disaster response operations, including three vessels that transported approximately 9,000 relief boxes to the Bicol Region on All Souls' Day (November 2).

As of Sunday, the agency has transported over 28,484 relief supplies to affected communities.

Disaster agencies report that Kristine and Typhoon Leon have impacted more than eight million people and caused 150 fatalities.
