12,622 evacuated in Metro Manila due to Kristine

A total of 12,622 individuals in 163 barangays across Metro Manila were evacuated due to Severe Tropical Storm Kristine (international name Trami), according to the Metro Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MMDRRMC).

Evacuees are currently taking shelter in 41 evacuation centers, primarily schools, with the majority located in Pasay City.

The MMDRRMC reported that no barangays in NCR are at risk of flooding or landslides until November 1, 2024, prompting a recommendation to downgrade NCR's status from Blue Alert Level to White Alert Level by 5 p.m. on Sunday.

While Kristine exited the country’s area of responsibility over the weekend, it affected more than five million people nationwide.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) is now monitoring Tropical Storm Leon (international name Kong-rey), which may affect Extreme Northern Luzon but is not expected to raise wind signals in Metro Manila.
