Gov releases PHP130M aid for Bicol hit by Kristine

The national government released PHP130 million in aid to the Bicol region affected by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. allocated funds specifically: PHP50 million for Albay, PHP30 million for Naga City, and PHP50 million for Camarines Sur.

During his visit to Naga, Marcos assured residents that relief supplies such as food packs and hygiene kits are sufficient and systems are in place to help typhoon victims.

Kristine has exited the country's area of responsibility but affected over five million people nationwide.

The state weather bureau is now monitoring Tropical Storm Leon (Kong-rey), which may affect Extreme Northern Luzon by Sunday night.

Signal No. 1 could be raised in Cagayan Valley and parts of the Bicol Region as Leon remains far from the Philippine landmass.
