PHP1.1B aid for STS Kristine, STY Leon victims

As of November 3, the total public and private assistance for victims of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine and Super Typhoon Leon reached PHP1.1 billion in the Philippines.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) distributed over 1.01 million family food packs across affected regions, while local government units and NGOs provided additional aid.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines conducted 58 humanitarian sorties with assistance from ASEAN countries to support affected areas in Bicol and Batangas via various modes of transport.

As of November 3, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported that 2.2 million families or over 8.6 million individuals were affected by the storms, with around 146 deaths confirmed.

The Malaysian government has deployed a disaster management team to assist in typhoon response efforts.

Damage from the storms included P7.2 billion worth of infrastructure damage and P4.5 billion in agricultural losses.
