PCG: COVID-19 cases among personnel now at 616

As of Friday, July 31, 2020, the number of Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) personnel infected with COVID-19 has risen to 616.

Out of this total, 330 have recovered from the illness.

The PCG's leadership is implementing strict safety protocols and providing regular RT/PCR tests for frontline workers, along with vitamins, PPE sets, and medical supplies.

On Wednesday, July 29, the number was reported at 600 cases with 297 active cases and 303 recoveries.

The new infections include personnel who were assisting returning overseas Filipinos, locally stranded individuals, and maritime stakeholders.
