Pathologist doubts slap caused student's death

Forensic pathologist Dr. Raquel Fortun expressed doubts about the theory that a slap caused the death of 14-year-old student Francis Jay Gumikib.

Dr. Fortun noted inconsistencies in the death certificate, which lists acute intraparenchymal hemorrhage and presumptive pulmonary tuberculosis as causes, with child physical abuse mentioned but not identified as the manner of death.

The pathologist questioned how a single slap could cause such severe injuries and suggested that an autopsy is necessary to determine the exact cause of death.
