VP Sara Duterte visits Antipolo student's wake after alleged teacher slap

Vice President Sara Duterte, who also serves as Education Secretary, visited the wake of 14-year-old Francis Jay Gumikib on October 6.

Gumikib died on October 2 after allegedly being slapped by his teacher on September 20.

Duterte extended condolences and moral support to the family during her visit, accompanied by DepEd officials including spokesperson Michael Poa.

DepEd will assist the family with administrative processes related to the case and may consider child abuse charges.
