Pasig to open bike corridors, offer loans for bikes

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto announced plans to open bicycle corridors and offer loans to city employees to purchase bicycles or scooters.

Sotto highlighted the lack of infrastructure for alternative modes of transportation during the pandemic, noting that less than 30% of people travel by private car but these vehicles occupy 80% of roads.

He also demonstrated that biking to work is feasible in the Philippines and encouraged residents to shift to alternative transport modes under GCQ to maintain physical distancing.
