Pasig to aid all families, Sotto urges rich to waive share

Pasig City is providing cash aid to all families during the coronavirus lockdown, with Mayor Vico Sotto urging wealthier residents to waive their share so it can be given to those in greater need.

Initially, 206,000 Pasigueño families were eligible for DSWD's emergency subsidy program, but only 93,000 were approved by the national government.

To address this gap, Pasig City will subsidize over 100,000 poor families not included on the DSWD list, ensuring no one is left behind during the pandemic.
